After breakfast at Gibb’s farm with our group, we will bid them adieu and head to the airport via private transfer for a mid-day flight from Arusha to Zanzibar. We will snack on a boxed lunch en-route during our short trip to this exotic island. Once we land in Zanzibar, our local guide will meet us at the airport with a private transfer to our resort hotel, the Park Hyatt located on the ocean front of historic Stone Town.
We will relax at our hotel during the heat of the day--lounging by the pool or on our private balconies and watching the boats go by. In the early evening, we will set sail for a sunset cruise in a traditional wooden dhow. Afterward, in the cool night air, explore this historic seaside city center on your own. With its labyrinth of narrow streets, white-washed Arabesque buildings and mosques, sprawling markets and palm tree-shaded courtyards, there is something to see at every turn. Join Dana for a stroll to the Forodhani Gardens night market brimming with outdoor stalls selling fresh fish dinners of all sorts. Dinner is on your own, so you’ll have a chance to explore and try some local delicacies.
