
Day 21 – Free Day & Fab Farewell
Our last day in Paris is at leisure to allow time for those last-minute activities (note the Paris Asian Art Fair is in town). Our evening will include a fabulous surprise farewell dinner, santé!

Discover the bustling neighborhood of Beaubourg, including the Musée des Arts et Métiers, a museum of science and technology with a collection of historical inventions. Lunch at Georges, the Pompidou Center's stylish rooftop restaurant, then enjoy the museum's impressive collection of contemporary art including current exhibitions such as Brancusi's studio.
Our neighborhood walking tour of Montparnasse includes highlights such as visiting the Musée Bourdelle, a stroll through Montparnasse Cemetery; and ascending to the top of Montparnasse Tower to dine at Le Ciel enjoying soaring views of Paris.
Start with a visit to the Chateau de Fontainebleau, a grand palace that was once the residence of French monarchs, followed by a stroll through the charming village of Barbizon, which is known for its association with the Barbizon school of landscape painters.
Deepening our understanding of Monet at the Musée Marmottan. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
Delve into the rich collection of Asian art at the Guimet Museum. Consider exploring the latest exhibitions at the nearby contemporary Palais de Tokyo during our extended lunch break. Afterwards, head to La Galerie Dior, a museum dedicated to the world of high fashion.
Cooking Class: Whip up some French classics in a small group setting. Evening attending a show at the Palais Garnier Opera House.
Peruse the unique and vintage treasures the famous Paris Flea Market. This afternoon, discover the charming "covered passages" of Paris and soak up the truly Parisian atmosphere along charming rue Montorgueil before viewing the collection of contemporary art the Pinault Collection.
Stroll through Parc Monceau and visit two neighborhood house museums: the historic mansion Musée Nissim de Camondo filled with 18th c French decorative arts and the Musée Cernuschi, filled with Asian antiquities.
Venture west of Paris to Château de Malmaison, the former country home of Napoleon & Joséphine, with 19th-century decor, furnishing & paintings. Lunch together and visit the contemporary art museum, Fondation Louis Vuitton, boldly designed by Frank Gehry.

Best book club ever! Discuss the Judgement of Paris, led in person by the author Ross King, followed by lunch together. Afternoon tour the Musée de l'Orangerie showcasing eight of Monet's Water Lilies and a wonderful collection of 20th-century art.
Lazy Sunday. Suggest sitting on a terrace enjoying a café & croissant. Afternoon walking tour of Pere Lachaise cemetery and then Canal St. Martin, visiting Dana's old haunts including a Parisian pub crawl and dinner together.
Journey out to Monet’s home and gardens at Giverny, followed by a visit to the country home of our very own Julian Brown for a relaxed afternoon in the Normandy countryside.

Day at leisure to explore your own interests such as language lessons. Late afternoon visit to the Musée d'Orsay and current exhibit on Van Gogh’s paintings during his last months at Auvers-sur-Oise. Dinner nearby at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Journey north of Paris for a visit to the Basilica of Saint Denis, burial place for the French Monarchy since the 7th c! Continue to the picturesque village of Auvers-sur-Oise, the last home and resting place of Vincent Van Gogh, a place where he was highly prolific.
Walking tour of Julian's neighborhood, the Marais, including the Place des Vosges & the Musée Carnavalet. Afternoon at leisure for shopping and visiting other nearby museums.
Stroll the Latin Quarter with Julian as he spins stories about its great sites including the Roman Arena and the Pantheon. Enjoy an exclusive wine-tasting lunch with Lionel and Dominique Michelin.
Our Soirée begins with a welcome reception, a Paris history lecture by Julian, and a splendid private dinner cruise along the banks of the river Seine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
